Dear Garwood Elementary Parents and Students,

Welcome to Garwood Elementary School! We invite you to discover our wonderful learning community. Our K-5 school serves approximately 110 students in Kindergarten through Grade 5.  We offer full day kindergarten and a traditional classroom setting with multi-age experiences.  Garwood Elementary School is located on State Highway 71 south of Farm Road 950 in southern Colorado County. The first school was built in 1902 and has been rebuilt and renovated several times since then.  The current school building has 6 classrooms, 1 computer lab, science lab, music room, art room, gym, cafeteria, library and a classroom devoted to special programs.

Our staff is committed to developing the whole child - the social, emotional, and academic child. We understand that education is more than just reading, writing and math. Our talented and dedicated staff is highly qualified and is ready to meet the differentiated needs of all students.  We are constantly working to update our classrooms with the latest technology and teaching techniques.
